Crunch Time
Hi everyone!
Things have been going well here. We have seen a lot of miracles and I have felt so much gratitude for the opportunity I have been given to serve a mission.
We had our last zone conference with President Collins, which was hard but also inspiring.
Our friend Omar is doing well. Last Thursday, we met with him at the church and showed him around. As we sat by the baptismal font, he kept reiterating a phrase to us. He was sharing his story and how committed he is. He said, over and over, "God has called me. I will accept the call." He called his girlfriend right there and told her they're getting married before June 12 and they've already made the arrangements. He brought everyone to church and approached us as he was leaving. He said, "What's my next step?"
We taught him on Tuesday and he expressed to us how he doesn't like to be on 'level 1.' He said he wants to take it to the next level and he's willing to do whatever it takes.
There is a family we met a while back, and we found out that there was an active member's daughter living there. She is 18 years old and has a 10-month-old son. She never got baptized. They never came to church and we didn't frequently visit them. We got a frantic call from the girl's mom the other day. She was emotional and told us her daughter's boyfriend had made a decision that resulted in the loss of his life. We went straight over to their home and I have never been so humbled and felt such a burden watching this family. We returned and visited the next day and they said they'll do anything to enter into the temple for their son and boyfriend, and they'll be baptized in June as well.
Those who accept the gospel of our Savior and remain firm in it will be able to live a life with pure joy.
"...in a state of happiness which hath no end."
Love you all,
