Stack, Stack, Stack
This week was filled with two of the coolest miracles of my entire mission. I said goodbye to Elder McAvoy last Friday and got my new companion, Elder Hess. He is great and played soccer at Woods Cross, which is cool. Our friend Jessie was baptized, which was awesome, but here's one of the stories:
We had been praying and fasting to find someone that we could prepare to be baptized before Elder McAvoy went home. When Karla said to us that she was unsure, we were pretty bummed out. Carlos then told us he wanted to be baptized on the Thursday night before transfers. When we walked in to do his interview on the Wednesday before, his girlfriend was there. She had come back from Mexico earlier that day, and she had moved back in with them. We invited them to get married and baptized the next day, and they said they would pray and sleep on it, and then make the decision at 8:30 the following morning.
8:30 am came, and they told us that they were ready to be baptized and married. We had to get everything done before they started work at 10:30. We drove 40 minutes in total to get their birth certificates translated and notarized, and then we went and got them the marriage license. That evening, they were married and baptized. On Sunday, they approached us and told us that on Saturday, they found out Juliet was pregnant. They are so grateful for their decision and for the restored gospel in their lives. God will always answer prayers.
One of our other friends named Henry has a wife and a daughter. They loved church 2 weeks ago, but then he started a job, and he had to work Sundays. They got here from Venezuela 3 weeks ago and were looking for a church. He said he wouldn't be able to make it. Saturday evening at 11 pm, he texted me and said he would walk to church tomorrow because "[he] fell in love with the Church of Jesus Christ." We had a member pick them up, but they were all there. Inspiring family.
I have been working on consistency for the last 15 months now. Continuing to stack momentum and trust God, and good things will come. I love my Savior more than anything.
Love and miss you guys.
Go Michigan.
