You Bet
I cannot figure out how to add pictures to this, so you'll have to wait another week, my apologies.
Finished another 7 days in Berryville. Never have been so focused or worked so hard. We had a lot of our
friends come to church. It was special to see them love to take the sacrament for the first time.
Last Monday evening, we had a special experience. We have been teaching a family where the wife is a member, and the husband isn't. She approached us in Casey's one day and asked for us to teach him. After our lesson, we all knelt in prayer. I asked her to pray about the truth of the Book of Mormon, and after she closes the prayer, we are to wait until the spirit gives us an answer.
30 seconds went by. 1 minute. 1 ½ minutes. 2 minutes went by, and the husband looks up at me and smiles for the first time. I asked him how he felt. He said, "I know. I know it."
These have been some of the harder weeks of my mission. A wise friend of mine once said there will always be roses and thorns. The roses are what make it all worth it.
I love my mission. I love the prophet Joseph Smith and all he went through, so much. I love my Savior. This is His church.
Love you all,
Elder Smythe
