I Miss Snow

Hey everyone I hope you all had an amazing week! This week took forever, and flew by at the same time so here we are.

On Tuesday night our branch had an auction activity to raise money for a family who is struggling for Christmas. Everyone made desserts and sold them. There was only like 15 people there but we made $230 which was so cool.

We drove to Ozark on Wednesday for MLC and I loved it. We focused a lot on how we can individually grow closer to Christ, and our areas will reap the rewards of it. We taught a really spiritual lesson to our friends Aldo, Denis, Manuel, and two other guys (couldnt understand their names).

On Friday I watched my grandpa's funeral from the church which was not my favorite thing to miss out on, but here we are. Anyways, crazy spiritual. Elder Gary B. Sabin of the 70 spoke and he shared some things that felt really tailored and personal to exactly what I needed to hear. God is always so mindful of what we need. Friday night there were some former missionaries who served here, so our mission leader took us out for dinner which was so funny. Wish you guys could Brayan. Never met someone like him. Best mission leader, and guy, ever.

On Saturday we did service at this house. Oh man. Fun 4 hours though. My organizing skills were in full force. We also taught the same group of guys again and I have no idea what happened because usually I am not the best at Spanish but I was just saying the most ridiculous things. Even my companion looked at me so confused. It was so cool. Power of God was definitely there. Gift of Tongues baby. After the lesson one of the guys pulled me aside sharing similar experiences to my leg and to his life before coming to Branson. That was awesome. Two of them actually came to church this week which is so amazing. Also heard America lost today:(

For P day today we are going to a tiger sanctuary so I will have to update y'all on that next week:)

My spiritual thought is in Alma 26:37:

"Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen."

Moral of the story is that Heavenly Father is so merciful to us, through Jesus Christ and his atonement. I'm so grateful for my mission and want to fully grasp and learn everything from the next 20 months. I want to give the Lord everything, it's the least I can do for what he's done for me.

Love and miss you all, enjoy the snow I miss it,

Hug your family,

Elder Smythe
