Follow Jesus
What's up people! This was a crazy good week; I love my mission so much. Also, I heard Argentina won the World Cup on the back of Messi and if I have to go through Michigan winning a national championship out here too....
On Tuesday we had our branch party. We even had Santa come which was awesome. Of course we took some pictures with him. Brian came with us and we talked for a while about life. He even mentioned somewhere throughout the night about serving a mission. He is the best guy ever.
On Wednesday we ate dinner at Brayan's house and Elder Burns said bye to his family:( I am dreading the day when I have to do the same. We went to Brayan's brothers right after to say bye as well. Sad moments. The mom told me that her little kids have never been attached to a missionary like they are to me though:) Made my year.
Thursday was one final farewell for my wonderful trainer and we drove around to a lot of the members to say bye. We ate dinner with our branch president one last time, and he ended it by sharing his testimony. It was so powerful. The people here are incredible. I want to be like them some day.
Friday was transfer day... I said bye to some of my best friends. It was so sad. Grateful for all of them and all I learned during my first twelve weeks out here. My new companion is Elder Campbell. He is the coolest kid and is from up north in Boise.
Saturday night we taught one of the most spiritual lessons of my mission. There was this family of 7 who were so interested in us. The spirit there was so strong. They want to feel happiness in their lives, and here we are.
Sunday we had 4 of our friends come to church and I had to give a talk. Talked for a whole 10:30. It is so stressful. My face gets so red, it's awful.
My spiritual thought is something I shared in my talk that I talk a lot about, and is honestly the strongest part of my testimony:
Elder Holland said this in October:
"To be a follower of Jesus Christ, one must sometimes carry a burden—your own or someone else’s—and go where sacrifice is required and suffering is inevitable. A true Christian cannot follow the Master only in those matters with which he or she agrees. No. We follow Him everywhere, including, if necessary, into arenas filled with tears and trouble, where sometimes we may stand very much alone."
It doesn't need much explaining. Life's never going to be easy. It wasn't meant to be. Keep pushing. Keep walking. Keep trying. Jesus Christ, and Heavenly Father are there. They understand. Never give up on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I love and miss you all,
Have the best Christmas
