"My Name Is Joey Satarri, I Hold The Melchizedek Priesthood" + State Week

What's up baby we're back again! This week was a banger and was definitely much needed. Transfer news also came and I'll be here at least another 6 weeks so let's go!

Last Monday we went to Silver Dollar City which is the "Lagoon" of Missouri. It was fun to pull up with the whole district. After we were done we taught our 3 girls again and it was so spiritual and so good. Always the most spiritual part of my week. They told us they'd pray about baptism so I guess we will see..

On Tuesday my companion had to do interviews for some people being baptized and so I got to chill with the people while they were waiting. After he finished, one of them asked for a blessing so I gave my first blessing. It was such a powerful and spiritual moment, definitely one I'll never forget.

We went to visit our friend Hillary and when we knocked on HER house some dude answered saying that Hillary hadn't lived there for a year. He told us he was a Wiccan.... google that when you get a chance (they believe in witchcraft). Basically we felt like crap being around him and are genuinely worried for Hillary and where she is. So sketchy.

Wednesday we had MLC Review with the zone which was so good and so sad. We knew some of the people were leaving and my zone is so fun so it absolutely sucked saying bye. Later that day me and Burns didn't know where to knock in this complex so we said a prayer and each thought of number 307. So wild. Well, it led us to finding 3 families of Spanish speakers. God is so real.

I had exchanges today with Elder Larsen who is probably the missionary I have the most in common with. Being on exchanges meant I got to do all the Spanish by myself and we found 2 more people so that was a W. We went and visited the two guys who played music for us and they seem to be all about it and he played some more heat for us. They're so awesome. Larsen's dad gave him a gift card to eat at Guy Fieri's restaurant on the river tonight. It was absolutely unreal. We also accidentally caught a little of Tom Brady on Thursday Night Football:) and then I met a Michigan fan too which was a tender mercy.

Exchanges with Elder Smith were on Friday and it was unreal. He's also the most gifted piano player I've ever seen and so he serenades us 24/7 which is my favorite thing. We saw tons of success and we knocked on the door of a guy who we believed to be a Spanish speaker. I talked to him and he said (after taking the BOM) "you know, I was thinking about you guys today. I wondered when those Mormon kids would come knocking. Here's my number." Unreal.

Alright here is the best part of the entire week and why the title is what it is. We showed up to the church for a baptism of other missionaries and this big 'ol Hawaiian guy is sitting there. He's got tattoos all over and we start talking to him. Turns out he's a member and holds the priesthood. He told us he moved here 5 days ago and some girl he likes invited him. He was going to not tell anyone he was a member and act like an investigator for attention. He had us dying for 30 minutes. The girl shows up, he starts asking these ridiculous questions. And finally he snaps, and in the most 'Princess Bride' way he can, this man goes "I am sorry. I cannot do this. My name is ELDER Satarri. I hold the Melchizedek Priesthood." Best moment ever.

We got someone at church which was sweet. He's the coolest kid. 19 year old who plays college soccer. I also spoke and gave a 10 minute talk all in Spanish. Of course we set the record for the most attendance ever at like 33 people so that was great to have the day I spoke but oh well.

Spiritual Thought:

Jacob 7:5-

"And he had hope to shake me from the faith, notwithstanding the many revelations and the many things which I had seen concerning these things; for I truly had seen angels, and they had ministered unto me. And also, I had heard the voice of the Lord speaking unto me in every word, from time to time; wherefore, I could not be shaken."

Always be true to your faith and the things you know to be true

Love and miss all of you guys

Elder Smythe

And go Michigan:) Ohio week comin
