Showtime
How are we doing?? I apologize for the video at the top. This phone is so hard to work it should be at the bottom:) but here we go!
Next time you all hear from me I'll be in the field, which is alarming and quite frankly terrifying and exciting at the same time. I am so excited to teach people and give them the opportunity I have to live again with Heavenly Father.
This week has been pretty average, nothing really big happened to be honest. However, I do love the MTC so much. Elder Woodson referred to it as the "Fortnite Lobby" in real life which is honestly true. I am kind of sick of the repetitiveness of it. The 4 hour classes can be long. I love everyone here so much though. I have met some of my best friends here and I love seeing them every day. The next few days are what's really going to be hard, but be so special and spiritual all at the same time. Saying bye to our teachers is going to be so sad and then saying bye to each other is going to be the worst. My teachers are such examples to me and I want to be like them. The light of Christ in each of them is so special. I love my district so much. Monday and Tuesday morning are going to stink.
I am the only one who leaves Wednesday, which means an extra P day of some more basketball, which I am not complaining about.
I gave a talk on Sunday in sacrament meeting, it might've been the most basic talk I have ever written. Gave it in Spanish though, it's been so amazing to see when I have the spirit with me, how real the gift of tongues is. Heavenly Father is always watching over us.
Last night it was the 4th of July for Mexico which was so fun and cool. We all got woken up at midnight by the fireworks, and a few guns:), it was so crazy. It's so cool to see this sanctuary of so much of God's army inside of this wild city.
One thing that has been on my mind a lot is praying for other people, and doing my best to see others as God sees them. My testimony of prayer has grown so much. It is so important for all of us to notice the Lord's hand in our lives as much as we can, because he is always there. I have felt so much gratitude since I arrived here. I have been blessed with so much and am so excited to have the opportunity to serve and share the message of Jesus Christ with others.
We had the opportunity to go to the temple again today. The visitor center had a Christus and it was so spiritual to be there. I am so grateful for the temple. I understood a little more this time, but so much peace and clarity comes every time I go. Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us personally and individually.
I'm so excited to get to Arkansas! I can not wait to teach people, and to be around the people I am meant to be serving.
I would LOVE to hear from you guys, as always! Email or text me! The church is true, and there is nothing else that will bring you this type of happiness.
As always, Go Cougs and Go Blue:)
Love and miss you all so much,
Elder Smythe
